Rope Swing Workshop - Meet 1pm at Spacex
Discussion - 6pm Spacex
X–Panel are pleased to present TAKE PLACE. This day of events will explore issues surrounding the reclaiming of public space in contemporary art.
As the central focus, Bristol based artists James Kennard and Heath Bunting will lead a participatory workshop at a secret location in the public realm of Exeter.
To complete the day, X-Panel will be hosting a discussion at Spacex. The artists will be joined by curator Katie Daley-Yates (Situations) and will talk about their involvement with art in the public realm. There will then be an opportunity for open critical debate.
TAKE PLACE is staged alongside Shaun Gladwell’s exhibition 'Seven Year Line Work' at Spacex. For more information see the events area of the website.
X-Panel is made up of emerging South West based curators Leela Clarke, Bryony Gillard, Ben Langworthy, Cara Lockley and Jonathan Russell who have been selected by Spacex to take part in this project, which is aimed at increasing training and work experience opportunities for emerging curators.
