SHAUN GLADWELL

Artist Shaun Gladwell ‘s work critically engages personal history, memory and contemporary cultural phenomena through performance, video, painting and sculpture. Born in 1972, Shaun graduated from the Sydney College of the Arts with a Bachelor in Fine Arts, and the College of Fine Arts, Sydney with a Masters of Fine Art. Since then he has exhibited extensively, establishing a significant national and international reputation.

Gladwell’s work has been exhibited in major national and international exhibitions, including The Mind is a Horse, Bloomberg Space, London (2001), the Yokohama 2005 Triennale of Contemporary Art: Art Circus (Jumping from the Ordinary), Japan; Space Invaders, Kunsthaus Baselland, Switzerland (2005); the 52nd International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennale: Think with the senses, feel with the mind – art in the present tense; 2006 (27 th) Bienal de Sao Paulo, How to Live Together, Brazil; the Busan Biennale 2006: Everywhere, South Korea; Space for Your Future, Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo (MOT); 2008 Taipei Biennale, Taiwan; and 2008 Sydney Biennale, Revolutions – forms that turn.
