14 January - 21 February 2009
An outreach project in partnership with Double Elephant print studios and animation artist Anna Aroussi. Funded by Animated Exeter.
Inspired by the current Christiane Baumgartner exhibition, a group of young people from ISCA Media College, Exeter will be working together to create prints and bring them to life via animation.
After visiting the exhibition at Spacex, Anna Aroussi will lead a session contexualising the project - can prints translate into animation? What will be the difficulties? How can we create an animation which draws on the themes and ideas of Christiane Baumgartner?
The group will then be invited to Double Elephant to do studio based printmaking (x 3 sessions) lead by Emma Moloney and Anna Aroussi. The resulting prints will be used to create an animation edited in accordance with the groups ideas set up in the sessions.
The final outcome with be shown as part of the Animarathon screening on Saturday 21st February from 12pm-5pm at Exeter Phoenix.
