TIM BRENNAN

THE NORTH

16 December 2006 - 24 February 2007
Each of Tim Brennan's photographic works have been created using a low-resolution mobile phone camera. Enlarged beyond pixellation, the images become blurred into an impressionistic fugue of colour, akin to Turner’s proto-abstract watercolours where form is dissolved in light to become pure colour.

Since 2002, Brennan has undertaken walks throughout northern Britain that expand upon his previous performance works. The new photographs explore the relationship between geography, personal memory and social history.

Alongside the exhibition Spacex is commissioning Tim Brennan to produce a new performance site specific to Exeter, which the artist calls a manoeuvre. This is a guided walk with original narrative specific to the area offering an imaginative insight into the locale. Tim Brennan's 'Manoeuvres' take place on 2 Feb 2007 11am & 3pm.  Booking essential.

Tim Brennan: The NORTH a publication accompanying the exhibition is available in paperback cost £10.00.
